Gaylord Opry Hotel

Spent most the week in Nashville, TN for an Energy Efficiency Expo. The hotel we stayed at was huge. Looked like it should have been in Vegas. Expo wasn't that big of a hit, but the environment was GREAT! I will have to take my wife there sometime. Would make for a great romantic getaway.

Another Incredible KY Sunrise

This sunrise was even more amazing than the last. I couldn't believe all the colors. Pictures don't even do it justice!

National Putt Putt Championship

Mindy and I finally got a night alone. We ate at a great Cuban restaurant and then played a few rounds of putt putt. She beat me bad on the first 18, but I rocked her on the second round. We had to go a 3rd round to break the tie. In the 3rd round I had a good lead through most of the course, but almost gave it up at the end. It was ugly, but somehow I walked away with a 1 point win. I think ultimately it came down to mechanics. My professional style, form and finesse just proved to be too much for the amateur at the end of the day.

Cardinal Football

Went to my first University of Louisville football game. A friend of mine has season tickets and he asked me if I wanted to go with him. It was such a different atmosphere than what I had grown accustom to at BYU. It was still fun, but it stank to high heaven of cigarettes and beer! Over half their student section appeared to be under the influence. What's funny is despite the high consumption rate; BYU student fans are far more crazy and loony! All and all it made for a great time. Results of the game: The Cardinals got their butts kicked by a second rate team, Florida International.

Eye Check-Up

I remember the first time I went to the eye doctor. All those instruments they use scared the heck out of me. I was always afraid they were going to poke my eye with a needle or something. The worst part is towards the end when they put those drops in your eyes to dilate your pupils. For like three hours everything is really bright and blurry. I am always afraid that one day I will get pulled over on the way home and have to explain to the officer that I am not high on drugs. I mean driving home is already scary enough with everything being so blurry! I guess there is one thing worse than all that though and that is the bill you get after buying a new six month supply of contacts and a new pair of glasses. Ouch!

Birthday/Labor Day Hike

For my birthday I wanted to get out and do something with the family.  We decided to go hiking at a place called Clifty Falls.  We had a great time.  The water falls really weren't that fantastic, because we haven't had much rain this summer.  It was still an amazing place to spend the day with family and friends.  The boys really had a blast walking on walls, climbing up towers and crossing over bridges.  We also stopped by a nature reserve and that is where we found the turtles.  They had a lot of cool stuff including the craziest catapillar I have ever seen.  Wish I had taken a picture of it for this post.  Oh well.  We had a great time!

Ice Cream

Jaxon loves ice cream! He was so hilarious while he ate it too. I had to take a couple pictures.

Happy Birthday To Me!

Today is my 31st B-Day! Check out the amazing cake my incredible wife made for me. She never ceases to amaze me.  She also made those B-Day cards.  One from her and one from the boys.  I married the BEST!

Hot Lunch Date

With my mom in town we had to take advantage of having a babysitter. Mindy and I had a smoke'n HOT date. We ran some errands, grabbed lunch at Panera Bread and planned our upcoming trip to Utah. Best part was just having "us" time. Yes my friends, after 7 years of marriage that is considered a smoke'n HOT date and we loved every minute of it!

Camping With The Boys

With Grandma Michelle over we decided to set up camp in the backyard. We started out with a campfire where we roasted hot dogs and marshmallows. Then we looked at the stars and told stories. The sunrise was beautiful the next morning, but the boys missed it. They were sound asleep.

"Let's Talk About God"

Mindy always goes down to the bottom of the driveway to wait for Landon's bus in the afternoon. This time she decided to drive down with Carson in his little battery powered F-150 truck. (Yes, my little wife rides in their toy truck!) Well, they get to the bottom of the driveway and Mindy sits on the back tailgate to wait for Landon. Carson then jumps over the back seat, sits next to her on the tailgate and says, "Mom, let's talk about God."  Little kids are great aren't they!

Road Warrior

Today I drove three hours to Nashville for four hours worth of work and then turned around driving another three hours home. Not the most efficient day was it?

Team Red Baseball Party

I am coaching the boy's baseball team this fall and we have been having a blast! The season starts next week and today was our last practice. We decided to have fun and invited the team over to our place where we ate pizza, practiced sliding into home on our slip'n slide, smacked water balloons off a tee and had a water balloon toss. The kids all had so much fun! They really bonded and got to know each other really well. Should make for an exciting season. Go team Red!
